Amazon Connect

let’s start with the Amazon Connect service first. Amazon Connect service essentially makes it very easy to set up a customer support contact center and provide reliable customer engagement at any scale. With Amazon Connect, you can deploy your customer contact center with just a few clicks and onboard agents from anywhere. This way, you can quickly begin to engage with your customers.

The Amazon Connect service has lots of good features for setting up customer support call centers. For example, users can be authenticated in many ways:

  • calls can be queued
  • the call can be forwarded to soft-phone or direct phone
  • can have a wait option so that your call be directed to the next customer agent

You can get a toll-free number or a direct number. The important to keep in mind is that Amazon Connect is a regional service. It means not all AWS Regions have this service available; also, not all countries are supported.

Amazon Pinpoint

The next service in this category is Amazon Pinpoint. The Pinpoint service engages your customers across multiple channels. In other words, Amazon Pinpoint helps you engage with your customers by sending emails, SMS, and push notifications messages. You only pay for the messages you send.

For example, let’s say you have a use case where you need to notify all your customers or a particular segment of customers about some important announcements about the product they brought. Maybe the product has some defects. Or, let’s say you need to tell your customers about some deal or sale. You can use Amazon Pinpoint to quickly setup, and send emails, SMS or voice, or push notifications to the users of mobile apps.

Amazon Honeycode

Another service in the business applications category is Amazon Honeycode. This is a fully managed service that allows you to quickly build powerful mobile and web apps – with no programming required. Essentially, in this service, first, you set up your data like Spreadsheet, then use this data to build your apps using a visual application builder. Then, you can publish the apps.

Amazon Chime

The next listed service is Amazon Chime. This service provides two telephony services: Business Calling and Voice Connector. Amazon Chime Business Calling enables enterprise users to place and receive phone calls. It also allows users to send and receive text messages with the Chime Desktop, mobile, and web applications. The Business Calling service supports US phone numbers with calling and texting to over 100 countries.

In a simple term, for easier retention, you could think of Amazon Chime as a meeting or conferencing tool such as Zoom concerning its core functionality.

Amazon SES

Another service is Amazon Simple Email Service. As the name says, essentially, Amazon SES service enables you to send emails using a reliable and scalable email platform.

Amazon WorkDocs

The next one is Amazon WorkDocs. Amazon WorkDocs is kind of similar to Google Docs. This service delivers secure enterprise storage, with sharing with strong administrative controls. It also has innovative markup capabilities. Amazon WorkDocs service help improves employee productivity.

Amazon WorkMail

Another service is Amazon WorkMail. It is a kind of similar to Google’s Gmail. Amazon WorkMail is a managed email and calendar service that offers strong security controls and support for existing desktop and mobile clients.

Alexa for Business

The last one in this category is Alexa for Business. Alexa for Business lets you empower your organization with voice. Alexa for Business allows you to provision and manage shared Alexa devices in your organization from a centralized console. With Alexa for Business, you can easily set up multiple Alexa devices at the same time and automatically connect them to your Alexa for a business organization.

Alexa for Business makes it easy for you to configure your conference rooms. You can specify the video conferencing equipment you use, your preferred meeting applications, and your default conference call numbers. This allows Alexa to start just about any meeting, on any device, in any room you’ve configured.
